This DIY bookbinding kit includes all the materials required to bind a hardcover butterfly stitch over tapes. All materials are cut to size. Signatures have been folded, pressed, and trimmed to allow for clean and precise binding on the first try, even for beginners.

Completed book (pictured) is not included in the kit. Some basic additional tools are required. See list below.

The finished book measures 5.5 x 4 x 1 inches.

MATERIALS INCLUDED IN THIS KIT (all measurements are width x height):

• Detailed printed instructions with step-by-step images/diagrams

• 12 signatures folded & trimmed to 4” x 5.5”

• 4 cover boards cut to 4” x 5.5”

• 4 sheets of bookcloth cut to 5” x 6.5”

• 9” strip 1/2” linen tape (to be cut into 3 tapes of 3" each)

• 1 spool of 4 ply maroon waxed linen thread

• 1 punching jig template cut to 1” x 5.5”

• 8 sheets of newsprint cut to 7” x 8.5”

• 2 sheets of wax paper cut to 5” x 7.5”

• 1 small scrap of board cut to 2” x 1”

• Exacto or Olfa snap blade with a fresh blade

• Small glue pot with PVA or Elmer’s glue

• Glue brush

• Needle (blunt tipped/tapestry with small eye)
